ARKHAM WEATHER WORST IN A CENTURY

Arkham, MA - The continuing blizzard that seems to be focused with uncanny precision over the town of Arkham has entered its third month. Acting Governor Jane Swift declared a state of emergency for the area, but rescue efforts have been thwarted by weather conditions for over a week.

Climatologist Myron Sanderson with the Institute for Global Weather remarked last Sunday that "the blizzard in Arkham is the worst in the state's history." So far an estimated 93 inches has accumulated since the snow first started falling late last year. Sanderson believes the concentrated snowfall over such a small area can only be explained by a rare combination of winds and cold fronts. "Frankly, I didn't think this sort of thing was possible."

Unnamed sources at Miskatonic University had a different theory, involving the wrath of vengeful gods, but Dean of Sciences James Maguire dismisses that as "absolute hogwash."
