ARKHAM -- Police were given the go-ahead by doctors Tuesday to interview a
pregnant woman regarding the
Dec. 22 shooting death of her estranged husband. Robert Waite, 33, of 711 Adams in Innsmouth was found with a
wound to the chest on the kitchen floor of Anna Waite's home at 1455 Williams Drive about 6 p.m. Dec. 22. He
was pronounced dead at Our Lady of Questionable Origin Hospital after being flown there by LifeFlight helicopter.
Anna Waite was found lying on the same kitchen floor shortly before her husband was found.
Since the shooting, police have been waiting on the advice of doctors to question Anna Waite, who is about
seven months pregnant, Police Captain Arthur Stanley said. Mrs. Waite had complained that Robert intended to "take
the baby down to the watery depths of Y'ha-nthlei".
After several weeks, and with the aid of medication, doctors have finally pronounced Anna Waite fit for police
questioning. Captain Stanley was still unclear about what charges would be brought on the woman, explaining "We
aren't sure what a Y'ha-nthlei is, but I have a feeling its some kind of water theme park in Virginia."
