ARKHAM -- An ancient book entitled the Pnakotic Manuscripts was stolen last night from the secured vault in the Miskatonic University library.
"The lock to the vault was apparently jimmied with a crowbar or similar instrument," said Police Captain Arthur Stanley late Friday night.
Dean of Sciences Milton Maguire was able to determine which book was stolen only after consulting with Bernard Bustoffson, a professor of occult studies. According to Bustoffson, the Pnakotic Manuscripts describe horrific creatures which existed at the beginning of time, and how they may still be summoned. It also details the forbidden locations where these beings can be contacted.
It wasn't clear why this book was stolen and not many of the other, more valuable tomes.
