ARKHAM -- Most of a small camp site near Route 128, west of Old Town Arkham was burned down in what authorities are describing as a scavenger hunt run amok. A two acre stretch of woodland nearby was also damaged by the group of more than fifty participants.
Police were called on the scene after area resident Todd Utley was removed bodily from his home. "They came to the door asking for sponges and shards of something or other," said Utley. "I told them I was Jehovah's Witness, and we don't play those party games. They tossed me out on my ear and proceeded to tear my place apart."
According to Utley, the party-goers were wearing elaborate robes or gowns, and made a mess of his home. "They didn't find anything, like I told them. The same damn thing happened a few weeks ago. We just finished a barbecue, and we were fixing to watch some yoga videos when out of nowhere these people in robes show up."
County Park Authority representative Charlie Billingsly says it's too early to tell how extensive the damage really is. "We'll have to go over the entire area and see what these folks did," said Billingsly. "For the life of me I'll never understand what they were doing with flamethrowers. When I was a kid, the scavenger hunts involved lawn ornaments and Sing Along With Mitch records. Kids these days."
