Arkham Asylum
Arkham Asylum
A massive structure capable of housing over 100 stark, raving patients (and probably another dozen or so normal ones). Dr. Tillinghast has been the director of the asylum since 1990, and hates to have visitors. Since so many former Historians are there, Dr. Bustoffson feels somewhat obliged to check on their progress. Historian Thurber has escaped numerous times, but they keep his room ready for him.

Arkham Lanes
Arkham House of Steaks N Donuts
This 24 hour establishment offers a terrific selection of grade A beef and more than 30 differnt kinds of donuts. SPONGE officers usually meet here once a week to discuss ongoing investigation, or to load up before an S&D.

Arkham Lanes
Arkham Lanes
One of the largest bowling alleys in the northwestern part of the state. Gus Farcus is the manager here, and has some SPONGE servers locked away in the basement.

Bryce Pasture
Bryce Pasture
Located at the crux of a major dimensional juxtaposition, Bryce Pasture is the second most common locale for unspeakable rituals in the Miskatonic Valley (right behind Seminary Hill, and just ahead of all of Dunwich). The Pasture has a long and sordid history with cattle mutilations.

Bustoffson Home
Bustoffson Home
Barney inherited the family house when he was 18. He stays there during most of the week, when he isn't passed out at SPONGE HQ. Until a Greater Servitor was conjured in the sitting room, the Bustoffson Home was the full time HQ for SPONGE. Every once in a while Dr. B moves the HQ back to this house, but the presence of the "Whatsit" in the basement is generally too unnerving for everyone.

City of the Old Ones (?)
City of the Old Ones (?)
A plateau in the mountains of Antartica has the remains of an ancient city. Probably home of the Old Ones, way back. SPONGE first discovered it on that fateful first expedition when we lost Chet Dyer. The city looked uninhabited, but it seems the Old Ones left some things behind to guard the place.

Christchurch Cemetery
Christchurch Cemetery
Massachusetts' oldest and largest cemetery is located about 12 miles from the heart of Arkham. It used to be three separate cemeteries before 1900, but they eventually grew together. On more than one occasion this cemetery has been the victim of vandalization, grave robbing, and midnight ice cream socials.

Coroner's Office
Coroner's Office
County Coroner Alison Witherspoon conducts her official business in the government building at the end of Adams Street. The building is nowhere near any of Arkham's taverns, and Kilroy has to really muster up his nerve to visit her here.

Dark Mountain
Dark Mountain
A mountain in Vermont where we believe the Migo have built an outpost. SPONGE travelled there after receiving a mysterious message from Dr. Biedermeier ("connect the eye"). Dr. Bustoffson barely managed to escape having his brain stolen and whisked to Yuggoth (see below). The mountain is riddled with tunnels, caves, and odd noises. People and animals alike avoid the entire area.

Frenology Hut
Frenology Hut
Local frenologist and mystic, Karma Johnson has a small shop near Old Town Arkham, where she tells fortunes and predicts doom (by appointment only).

Funeral Home
Funeral Home
The stately Funeral Home of Arkham used to belong to Frank West's father. Some unfortunate delelopments forced Frank Sr. to have to sell the place to Angus Romero. The place is a financial goldmine.

Hillhouse Theatre
Hillhouse Theatre
The old movie house in downtown always manages to receive unusual artsy films that don't seem to play anywhere else in the country. They didn't even get Changing Lanes.

Immortal Goat Society
Immortal Goat Society
Back in 1968, this building was the site of the Iota Gamma Sigma fraternity for Miskatonic. The frat was located so far from campus that the members eventually stopped attending classes, and focused on personal exploration. Once everyone was completely doped out of their minds, they forgot what the "IGS" logos on the walls meant, and thus the Goat was born. See also: Clubs and Cults.

Police Headquarters
Police Headquarters
Police Chief Stanley and his boys in blue are never excited to see members of SPONGE (not even at picnics). The police force in Arkham is one of the smallest in the state, dealing with one of the largest caseloads outside of a major city. Stanley seems to personally blame Dr. Bustoffson.

Rare Book Shoppe
Rare Book Shoppe
This small but well stocked book store specializes in acquiring very rare tomes. The owners and operators of the store are unwilling to divulge their contacts. They have an ongoing problem with screwing up deliveries, and that is how SPONGE managed to get an unabridged copy of the Necronomicon.

Route 128
Route 128
SPONGE adopted a small portion of this historic highway. This was where Barney and Kilroy reappeared from the Dreamlands completely naked.

Seminary Hill
Seminary Hill
This large, spooky hill located southwest of Old Town Arkham has a reputation for evil that is well deserved. We can't put it any more simply than that. The very first SPONGE WebCam operation was set up to observe the hill at all hours. Now, every cult in three states likes to have rituals and keg parties on the hill at midnight. Of course, a couple times a year, something really terrible happens to everyone there, but it isn't much of a deterrant.

Town Hall
Town Hall
The heart of local government in Arkham has been under SPONGE surveillance since 2000. This same building was used to condemn innocent women of being witches, and innocent men of being Whigs. There are some that believe the ghost of Goody Fugger haunts the building, and much of Independence Square.

Y’ha-nthlei
Y’ha-nthlei
The Deep Ones’ city at the base of Devil’s Reef, a mile and a half east of Innsmouth Harbour and Innsmouth, Massachusetts. The U.S. Navy torpedoed most of the reef in the '20s, and the city was said to be abandonded since the '80s. But who really believes that?

Yuggoth
Yuggoth
The ninth planet of our solar system is almos certainly another outpost for the Migo. We call the planet Pluto, but they have referred to it as Yuggoth since before man crawled from the sea. And back to the sea is where they want us, so we think.

The Dreamlands
The Dreamlands
Within the realm of dreams, there is a place known as the Dreamlands. Through certain rites, and with the proper tools, one can enter the Dreamlands in a more or less physical sense. Barney first entered the Dreamlands after spending the night at the Arkham Bed and Breakfast. Something about the headboard Zelda Hershwitz bought at auction let Bustoffson leave the Earth. It is here that Barney found the Silver Key, and first met up with Gugs. You don't even want to know about Gugs.
