The Broon Guy
The Broon
A strange character that dresses in semi-medieval garb and wanders around the United States, hypnotizing large numbers of people. His uncanny resemblance to Dr. Bustoffson makes him all the more sinister. What exactly the Broon Guy plans to do, or wants with members of the Historian Network is still unclear (but it can't be good). See also The Lab.

Bedelia Bustoffson
Bedelia Bustoffson
Sadly, Barney's sister succumbed to the dark side while they were in their teens. Bedelia has fallen in with a dark crowd, serving Nyarlathotep, and worse, working at Wal-Mart. Barney hasn't given up on her, but holds little hope for her salvation. Kilroy can't think of a better way to go, if it comes to that.

Johnny Curwen
Johnny Curwen
One of Barney's childhood friends (or that's what we're supposed to think). Barney ran into Curwen at a high school reunion, and the man had no recollection of his friendship with Bustoffson. This has lead SPONGE to surmise that it really isn't Curwen, but some malevolent force using his body. Or, he's just very ill-tempered and forgetful.

Dr. Fidget Dbendstrep
Dr. Fidget Dbendstrep
After losing his face in a poker game, Dr.Dbendstrep haggled it back, then made medical history by sewing it back on himself, amazingly while under a general anaesthetic. Upon waking, however, he was horrified to find that he'd sewn his face on upside-down. Dbendstrep has since spiraled into insanity, caused by years of having to eat through his eye-holes and sleep with his mouth closed. (His olfactory system remained largely unaffected.) He's not considered an immediate threat, but boy does he look like a freak!

Father Guererra
Father Guererra
Not your typical friendly-neighborhood priest, the bad padre thinks he's doing God's work, but it isn't the benevolent, forgiving God most of us have come to know. Guererra is in cahoots with agents of the Old Ones, a race of godlike whack jobs.

Janice Kirkebøker
Janice Kirkebøker
A former geology classmate of Chet Dyer, Ms. Kirkebøker blames SPONGE (and Dr. Bustoffson specifically) for his death. She tried to have Barney whisked away to another dimension as a play thing for Hunting Horrors. SPONGE managed to recover from her the Pnakotic Manuscripts, which she stole from Miskatonic. Kirkebøker is still at large, and speaks Norwegian fluently.

Deacon Klieger
Deacon Klieger
The leader of a large and mysterious cult called the Shards of Dumin (or The Current, as they refer to themselves). The Deacon and his white-robed throng of looneys seiged SPONGE several times, trying to reclaim one of their unwilling members. They resorted to kidnapping and extortion, and in a way won the first round. But Dr. Bustoffson will not rest until this man is put away.

Mannock
Mannock
Rumoured to be a former professor of the occult at Miskatonic (although which one we aren't sure), Mannock is basically a homicidal looney hellbent on destroying the Earth. Mannock and SPONGE have crossed paths many times, but no matter what we do, he manages to escape his captors and immediately hook up with a group of well-funded nutcakes.

The Marsh Family
The Marsh Family
It's hard to say just who in the Marsh family is still up and about on dry land these days. Whoever hasn't gone to sea permanently is certainly up to no good, and no doubt involved in some nefarious plot to abduct people, breed them with sea-dwelling lower lifeforms, or both.

The Migo
The Migo
The race of fungi-like creatures from Yuggoth (the planet Pluto to you and me). No one knows their agenda, but it has something to do with killing the members of SPONGE and enslaving the human race. See also The Bestiary.

Nyarlathotep
Nyarlathotep
The messenger of the Great Old Ones. This unsavory character appears every now and again to stir up trouble. Considering himself something of a deity, Nyarlathotep has many minions and followers that heed his every whim, and generally make life difficult for SPONGE. If not for his abundant indifference, SPONGE would be genuinely worried. Kilroy insists he once saw Nyarlathotep turn into a seven-eyed goat, but he'd had a few too many to drink, so his testimony is suspect.

Shoggoth Master
Shoggoth Master
A half-human/half-shoggoth hybrid. Shoggoth Master tried to infiltrate SPONGE and destroy it from within. He brutally killed the entire ECHO Affiliate of SPONGE, and managed to get Dr. Bustoffson blown up shortly thereafter. When Barney was regrown from essential salts, Shoggoth Master's molecules bonded, and he was regrown as well. After much confusion and havoc, the two were separated, but Shoggoth Master got away.

Trips 'Tripsy' Kloder
Trips "Tripsy" Kloder
Dedicated to sinistry (with the tattos to prove it!), Tripsy developed the Kloder Intelligent System for Measuring Evil Tendencies (KISMET®©TM) in his late teens. He went into a deep depression soon after, when he rated a mere 2 Skulls (out of a possible 10) by his own system. It has been rumored that Tripsy has worked his way up to 3 Skulls in the years since, although those rumors are rumored to have been started by Tripsy himself. Keep an eye out just the same.

Lyle Whately
Lyle Whately
The nephew of Wilbur Whately III and the rest of the semi-human clan of Dunwich inbreeds. Lyle has never forgiven us for killing Wilbur and his half-brother from beyond. He doesn't seem to consider the matter of self-defense, and that the half-brother ate a number of Arkham residents.
Last Seen: Dunwich, MA (07-12-97)

Ian Whitaker
Ian Whitaker
The psychic head of the Shimmering Eye cult, formerly based in Nova Scotia, is obsessed with the destruction of mankind. A powerful and sadistic necromancer, Whitaker eagerly acts as a servant to any and all Old Ones that will give him power. He's pretty much nuts.
